Recursive thought experiment
I think about my own thoughts right now.
That means I am thinking about how I am thinking about my own thoughts, right?
That means I am thinking about how I am thinking about how I am thinking about my own thoughts.
That means... And so on.
Now, why doesn't my brain end up in a tight-loop?
